چکیده
Deserts can be considered as one of the main sources dust emissions they are highly vulnerable to wind erosion, i.e. The lack vegetative cover, well low soil wetness, contribute release particles by erosion. present study examines seasonal variation in sand and storms (SDSs) originating from war-impacted semi-arid bare lands affected chemical warfare located southwest Iran for period 2007–2018. It employs a synthesis satellite observations Hybrid Single-Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectory (HYSPLIT) model trajectories. A regression analysis between annual/seasonal absorbing aerosol index distribution selected parameters indicated strong correlation with surface skin temperature, topsoil layer 10-m speed. During both cold warm periods, Kuwait Persian Gulf were episodic incursions identified maximum impact zone (frequency 100%). was about 12% total air masses during period, which increased 74% period. Regarding vulnerability high regions presumably contaminated potentially toxic elements (PTEs) compounds, may have been continuously transported over winds, not only surrounding region but also long distances including agricultural land marine environment. area would possibly pose danger environment human health; therefore, detailed site characterization investigate degree contamination PTEs compounds is warranted.

Detecting electrical activity from Martian dust storms
We present a model addressing the possible electrification of Martian dust storms based on the effective electrical charging of an individual dust grain. An upper charge bound on a grain can be determined based on the grain capacitance in the lowpressure Martian atmosphere. It is assumed that treiboelectric and inductive processes, like that presumed operating in terrestrial dust storms, can el...

Coarse Particles and Dust Storm Mortality In a paper titled "Episodes of High Coarse Partide Concentrations Are Not Associated with Increased Mortality," Schwartz et al. (1) concluded that "coarse particles from windblown dust are not associated with mortality risk." The authors seem to have overlooked the medical literature on the health effects of the historic U.S. dust storms of the dust bow...

A farmer and his two sons during a dust storm in Cimarron County, Oklahoma, 1936, Photo: Arthur Rothstein The Dust Bowl, or the Dirty Thirties, was a period of severe dust storms causing major ecological and agricultural damage to American and Canadian prairie lands in the 1930s, particularly in 1934 and 1936. The phenomenon was caused by severe drought coupled with decades of extensive farming...
متن کاملDust storms originating in the northern hemisphere during the third mapping year of Mars Global Surveyor
Data from the third Mars Global Surveyor (MGS) mapping year (MY 26, 2003–2005) are used to investigate dust storms originating in the northern hemisphere. Flushing dust storms, which originate as frontal dust storms at the northern polar vortex edge and propagate southward through topographic channels, are observed immediately before and after a quiescent period that occurs around the northern ...
متن کاملDust storms and ephemeral lakes
In drylands, both dust storms and ephemeral salt lakes (playas) are common. Observations using remote sensing and ground studies have shown that these playas can be major sources of saline dust storms. Some basins have recently become desiccated as a result of water abstraction by humans, and these have become significant sources of dust. The timing and amounts of dust emissions depends on such...
